En este artículo se abordan algunas cuestiones relativas a un ámbito de investigación reciente dentro de la Organización Escolar: la Cultura organizativa. En la primera parte se establece, en términos generales, cuáles son las coordenadas teóricas desde las que surge este tema en los últimos años, y se hacen algunas precisiones conceptuales sobre el mismo. La última parte del artículo está dedicada a las diversas perspectivas que se están desarrollando en este campo de estudio; concretamente, se distingue entre la investigación que entiende la cultura como una «variable» organizativa, y la que considera la cultura como una metáfora-base para comprender la organización.
This paper explores sorne cuestions related with a recent field of research on School Organization: The Culture o Organization. It is outlined the theoretical framework to study the organizational culture and they are explained sorne conceptual precisions about this issue. The paper offers also a general review of two approaches in the organizational culture research: one of them deals with the organizational culture as a organizational «variable»; from the other one the organizational culture is considered as a rootmetaphor to understand the organization.
