Los arrendatarios del almojarifazgo de Toledo en el siglo XV

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el almojarifazgo real demandado en la ciudad y reino de Toledo en el siglo XV. Se trató de un impuesto sobre el tráfico comercial exigido en dicha población sobre los flujos que circulaban de uno a otro lado del Sistema Central. Previamente, esta exacción comprendía otras muchas rentas sobre actividades económicas diversas, que en los siglos anteriores fueron enajenadas por la monarquía en favor del concejo, la iglesia local o los señores. De manera que el derecho cobrado por la hacienda real perdió la mayor parte de su valor y hubo que unirlo a las salinas de Espartinas para hacer atractivo su arrendamiento. Éste fue protagonizado por compañías de inversores, que a mediados de siglo estuvieron formadas sobre todo por la mediana nobleza cortesana y grandes comerciantes, mientras que a finales de la centuria cobraron importancia los medianos y pequeños propietarios de tierras y edificios urbanos, cuyo patrimonio asentado sobre bienes inmuebles los hacía más solventes.

Cet article analyse l´ almojarifazgo royal dans la ville et le royaume de Tolède au XVe siècle. Il s’agissait d’une taxe sur le trafic de marchandises, chargé sur les flux commercial de l’un à l’autre côté du Système Central. Auparavant, cette impôt comprenait nombreux d´autres droits demandés sur des diverses activités économiques, ces qui dans les siècles précédents ont été aliénés par la monarchie en faveur du municipe, l’église locale ou les seigneurs. Ainsi, le droit payé au trésor royal a perdu la plupart de sa valeur et a dû rejoindre aux salines d´ Espartinas pour devenir attractive leur location. Cela a été conduit par entreprises des investisseurs, qui au milieu du siècle ont été formés principalement par la noblesse de cour et les grands négociants, alors qu’à la fin du siècle sont devenus importants aussi les moyens et les petits propriétaires de terres et des bâtiments urbains, car leur patrimoine réglé sur la propriété immobilier les fit plus solvants.
