ABSTRACT: It is studied the role of the archives as guardians of the digital memory and creators of information in the web. It is analyzed the challenge that the digital repositories constitute in the conservation of the digital resources. A review to the models and developed projects, mainly in the surroundings of the National Libraries is approached.

Se estudia el papel de los archivos como guardianes de la memoria digital y productores de información web. Se aborda el reto que los repositorios digitales constituyen en la conservación de los recursos digitales, dando un repaso a los modelos y principales proyectos desarrollados, principalmente en el entorno de las Bibliotecas Nacionales.
