Actos retóricos y actos de habla

Actos retóricos y actos de habla

Abstract

In this article we try to answer some questions: Is it possible to separate a speech act from a rhetorical trope? Are all figures or tropes speech acts? If so, is it all rhetorics performative? Is it possible to consider rhetorics as a speech act because it has a perlocutive dimension as an argumentative mode of language? Or, on the contrary, is rhetorics performative because it produces some aesthetic effects reduced to cosmetic and ornament? All this would put a final question: What is the relation of this rhetorical performativity with the literary institution?
