Belleza femenina y arte en la mujer en Consuelo George Sand

Abstract

En los relatos sandianos, la libertad no sólo es interpretada como exteriorización del gusto y del sentido estético de los individuos, sino que también se presenta como elemento generador de belleza en aquellos personajes que hacen uso de ella. La síntesis de los ideales culturales de George Sand, sobre todo los heredados de la Ilustración, entre los que se encontraba esta particular noción de libertad, contribuyeron significativamente al proceso creativo de desvelar, y así comprender, los numerosos caracteres de la sociedad de su época, y de las del período histórico en el que se contextualizaban sus obras. Este fenómeno se constata en Consuelo, pues, si bien no puede considerarse como una obra feminista en sí, aborda de lleno la consecución de la libertad moral, intelectual y política de las mujeres, valiéndose para ello de un latente espíritu de voluntad creativa, manifiesto a través de la beldad nacida del canto y la música. A través del análisis de los tres volúmenes que constituyen la obra, se analizará el concepto de belleza, mostrando así la visión que la autora tenía de dicha categoría estética en la figura de Consuelo.
