Los paisajes agrarios de la Región de Murcia

Abstract

Los paisajes agrarios traducen las actividades agrarias que el hombre ha realizado y realiza en ese espacio. La evolución de estos paisajes ha sido lenta, y casi nula en alguna ocasión, hasta entrado el siglo veinte. Los cambios en las estructuras agrarias que los originaron eran difíciles y lentos, tanto por la ausencia de avances técnicos y posibilidades económicas como, por el inmovilismo de los agricultores apegados a lo ya conocido. En nuestra región, la dicotomía está entre los paisajes de secano y los de regadío. El agua introduce siempre las enormes diferencias que implica el disponer de agua sufi ciente para el cultivo o, sólo las insufi cientes e irregulares precipitaciones que caracterizan la pluviometría surestina. Llegar a tener más agua es el resultado de avances técnicos y de un poder capaz de ordenar el territorio, canalizar las ideas y esfuerzos. Para la región de Murcia, la disponibilidad de agua es lo que ha propiciado la evolución de los paisajes agrarios. Aún pueden ser mayores las transformaciones por las mismas causas de avances técnicos y políticas territoriales llevadas a cabo.
