Redes léxicas como redes neuronales

Abstract

Este artículo investiga la organización interna del conjunto de artículos léxicos de la mente porque los conceptos son nudos que contraen relaciones semánticas específicas. Se destaca la importancia de adoptar un modelo formal y se propone la metodología de redes de mundo pequeño, la cual se ha revelado muy útil en el estudio de varios campos como las conexiones neuronales. El trabajo se centra en cuatro relaciones léxicas –sinonimia, polisemia, hiperonimia e hiponimia–, las cuales se analizan mediante pruebas lingüísticas realizadas por estudiantes que tienen el español como L1 y el inglés como L2. Se concluye que la organización mental del léxico de L1 se ajusta a las redes de mundo pequeño, pero no así la de L2. Ello sugiere que la organización mental del léxico sigue modelos diferentes de conexión neurológica en una lengua adquirida y en una lengua aprendida.
