Legislación y competencias profesionales.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to know the professional competence described in the legislation. In order to do that, we have carried out a bibliographical research about the Spanish and European regulations related to the midwife profession. Spanish regulations: 1. Articles of non-facultative sanitary staff of the Sanitary Institutions of the Social Security. Law of April 26th 1973, Spanish Ministry of Employment. 2. Circular number 5/91 (February 25th) INSALUD. About the regulation of midwife activities in the primary care area. European regulations: 1. Regulation 2005/36/CEE of the European Parliament and the Council of September 7 th 2005 related to the recognition of professional qualifications. In short, we think that the Spanish regulations for professional competence need to be reviewed to accomplish the competence that the European regulations establish.
