Patrimonio Industrial, paisaje y desarrollo territorial

Abstract

Heritage and traces of the industry in the territory have become Spain in new cultural and resource applied to promote sustainable development programs at local and regional. These assets are inserted into a specific landscape, becoming increasingly necessary to interpret the heritage not as an element in isolation, but in its territorial context. The National Industrial Heritage Plan 2001, meant the visibility of these assets vulnerable and not sufficiently appreciated in previous studies or in the implementation of master plans that have had mixed results in the different regions. Museums and industrial tourism draw the most performances in recent years. As a sign of identity and part of the working memory is a "national asset" for many countries, its value is adapted to sectorial policies on local and regional environments, requiring management and international networks to achieve critical mass of users and make viable its entirety. The industrial heritage is an economic resource and can become an object of acceptable use in the development of cultural industries, from values as the past, identity, authenticity, scientific and technological knowledge and to the involvement and participation citizens in their management.
