¿Neologismos o desaciertos lingúísticos?

Abstract

En los estudios investigativos relacionados con la producción de neologismos en castellano por parte de profesores universitarios, se ha podido detectar una serie de palabras, más no términos, los cuales, de acuerdo con la caracterización respectiva no deberían ser ubicados en la categoría de neologismos. Entendiéndose como palabras a las unidades léxicas pertenecientes al lenguaje general, mientras que término o unidad terminológica denota un concepto especializado en cualquiera de las disciplinas del conocimiento. La interrogante que titula este artículo es el problema que nos ocupa en esta oportunidad: determinar si las unidades léxicas utilizadas por docentes en el discurso académico escrito, pueden ser catalogadas como neologismos, cumpliendo con condiciones fundamentales, como el criterio de necesidad y el respeto a las restricciones morfofonémicas del castellano, o son simplemente desaciertos lingüísticos, incluidos entre éstos los calcos ilegales y las modificaciones de las reglas para la formación de palabras en castellano, que atentan contra nuestro idioma.
