Abstract

The NSAID’s are a group of drugs widely consumed, which perhaps explains its frequency in ADR. 501 patients consulted with suggestive symptoms of ADR. The ADR to NSAID’s was determined by clinical history and oral provocation tests, single-blind controlled. 324 patients reported 489 AR. 62.7% were young adults. 61.4% were women. Two out of three reported an allergy background and allergy to rhinitis was the most common (52.2%). 57.3% of the reactions were of the immediate type. Skin symptoms were the most frequent (85.9%) and the most notable was urticaria (70.1%). The NSAID’s most common were ibuprofen (27.4%) and ASA (23.4%). 12.2% of provocations were positive; the most frequent were ASA (33.3%) and metamizol (22.2%). Regarding final diagnoses, 39.1% were intolerant to NSAID’s and 22.6% presented a possible allergic reaction. The alternative NSAID’s best tolerated were isonixina and paracetamol. In conclusion, the ADR’s to NSAID mainly affect female young adults. The most common AR was intolerance, mainly to salicylates.
