Populismo y nacionalismo en la “nueva” derecha radical española

Abstract

El presente artículo pretende contribuir al debate sobre la relación entre el populismo y el nacionalismo. Ambos han generado dos cuerpos de literatura muy amplios, aunque el diálogo entre ellos sigue pendiente, pues en la realidad política, las lógicas populista y nacionalista pueden coexistir, así como combinarse en los distintos discursos de movimientos y partidos. Son, entonces, necesarios esfuerzos académicos para desentrañar los paralelismos, diferencias, continuidades y discontinuidades entre las lógicas nacionalistas y populistas. Para ello, la presente investigación desarrolla un Análisis Discursivo de un actor político que ha irrumpido recientemente en el panorama político español y que ya ha sido etiquetado por algunos expertos como partido nacional-populista: este es el caso de Vox. Dicho análisis se realiza desde la base de la Teoría del Discurso de la escuela de Essex y la Psicología Retórica. Los resultados apuntan algunas contradicciones en las que podemos incurrir si etiquetamos a dicho partido como populista, pues la construcción discursiva del pueblo toma forma principalmente a través de antagonismos horizontales o dentro-fuera, y el punto nodal de su discurso es España como nación, entendida desde un prisma esencialista, no voluntarista y eminentemente conservador.
