Explorando a bioatividade dos cogumelos: propriedades antitumorais, antioxidantes e antimicrobianas

Abstract

Os cogumelos silvestres contêm uma enorme diversidade de biomoléculas com propriedades medicinais (Poucheret, Fons, & Rapior, 2006). Têm sido reconhecidos como al imentos funcionais e como uma fonte para o desenvolvimento de medicamentos e nutracêuticos. Os corpos de frutificação, o micélio e os esporos têm na sua constituição uma grande variedade de metabólitos bioativos com propriedades imunoestimu1adoras, cardiovasc ulares, anti-fibróticas, anti-intlamatórias, antidiabéticas, anti-virais (Poucheret et a i. , 2006). Nesse sentido, o nosso grupo de pesquisa (BioChemCore) tem desenvol vido diversos estudos avaliando as ativ idades antitumorais (Ferreira et ai., 201 0), antioxidantes (Ferreira, Barros, & Abreu, 2009) e antimicrobi anas (Alves et ai. , 20 12) de cogumelos comestíveis do Nordeste transmontano de Portugal, uma das regiões européias com maior biodiversidade de espécies silvestres.
