Abstract

This final report aims to present a critical reflection on the work developed within the curricular unit, Supervised Teaching Practice, of the Masters in the Teaching of Technological and Visual Education in Junior School, as well an investigation on a relevant theme to Technological and Visual Education in Junior School. In its first part, in addition to the reflection, a contextualization is made and reference to the activities developed during the pedagogical practice, namely in the subject of Expression and Plastic Education (EEP) in primary school, in the subject of Visual and Technological Education (VTE) in junior school and Technological Education in middle school. In what the investigation is concerned, and starting in the bibliographical revision, as well from the analysis of the authors’ ideas, it is also analyzed the importance of the teacher in the promotion of modeling activities, as an essential way to the psychomotor development of junior school students. In this sequence it is presented a reflection over a unit plan implemented in an educational institution, during the pedagogical practice, aiming the promotion of the implementation of modeling activities through junior school. The general results show that the students, in an initial phase, found difficulties at the level of the tridimensional representation, but, using materials and diversified strategies, which involved the modeling experimentation and the contact with a vast number of materials, they were able to overcome them, and we were able to verify a better understanding of the volume and space, motor development and creativity of the students.
