Acção do “efeito macho” sobre as ovelhas da raça Churra Galega Bragançana durante a fase final da época reprodutiva

Abstract

No início do mês de Dezembro, um lote de 35 ovelhas da raça Churra Galega Bragançana, com idades compreendidas entre os 2 e os 3 anos, foi submetido ao “efeito macho”. Por um período de tempo superior a 2 meses, as fêmeas foram mantidas totalmente separadas dos machos. Catorze dias antes da introdução dos carneiros, às ovelhas foram aplicadas esponjas vaginas impregnadas com 40 mg de acetato de fluorgesterona. Nesta altura do ano, a acção conjunta do tratamento com progestagénios (FGA) e do “efeito macho” não parece favorecer, quer as manifestações de cio, quer uma importante sincronização e estimulação da actividade ovárica. O “stress” e/ou os fármacos relacionados com as laparoscopias não parecem afectar significativamente as manifestações éstricas e a actividade ovárica das ovelhas da raça Churra Galega Bragançana.
