Clima urbano de la ciudad de Bragança

Abstract

La ciudad de Bragança se sitúa en el extremo Nordeste de Portugal continental, ladeada a norte por la Sierra de Montesinho y a oeste por la Serra de la Nogueira (Figura 1). La altimetría de la ciudad se caracteriza por su elevada complexidad, con variaciones que pueden alcanzar los doscientos metros en una reducida distancia. Esta ciudad se extiende por aproximadamente 33 km2, con una población de 23099 habitantes (INE, 2012), a la cual se acrece una población de estudiantes de cerca de 5.000 personas. El espacio urbano se caracteriza por la diversidad de tipologías de construcción que incluye barrios de edificios plurifamiliares, que contrastan con amplios espacios de viviendas unifamiliares. La actividad industrial es poco representativa, por lo que la economía local se sostiene esencialmente por la presencia de instituciones de prestación de servicios, mayoritariamente públicos.
