Breve história das plantas vasculares

Abstract

As listas e os livros vermelhos de espécies ameaçadas referem-se a grupos taxonómicos (= taxa/táxones, singular taxon/táxon) concretos, no âmbito de um território geográfico específico, frequentemente à escala do país (Collen et al., 2013). Esta organização reflete, em grande medida, a especialização dos floristas e taxonomistas botânicos e da literatura corológica e taxonómica. No que às plantas diz respeito, as algas, os briófitos e as plantas vasculares são, por regra, examinados em listas/ livros vermelhos independentes. O Atlas e Livro Vermelho dos Briófitos Ameaçados de Portugal foi pioneiro em Portugal (Sérgio et al., 2013). A presente Lista Vermelha da Flora Vascular vem colmatar um deficit há muito sentido na avaliação do risco de extinção das plantas vasculares da flora portuguesa.
