Estrutura de capital nas empresas hoteleiras portuguesas

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como principal objetivo analisar os determinantes da estrutura de capital das médias e grandes empresas hoteleiras portuguesas, tendo por base as teorias sobre a estruturação de capitais mais estudadas. Utilizou-se como metodologia o modelo de dados em painel, com base numa amostra de 2.719 empresas hoteleiras portuguesas obtida através de uma base de dados SABI para o período compreendido entre 2010 e 2017. Os resultados empíricos evidenciam uma relação positiva entre a rendibilidade e o endividamento total, assim como para a estrutura de ativos, dimensão, poupança fiscal e a tangibilidade. Assim, existem evidências estatísticas, que indiciam que todos os determinantes em estudo podem ser relacionados com a teoria Trade-off, enquanto que a tangibilidade e a dimensão podem ser ligadas tanto à teoria Trade-off como à teoria Pecking Order. No entanto, este comportamento poderá sofrer alguma influência em função da região onde a empresa se localiza.
