Anestro fisiológico pós-parto em ovelhas Awassi x Sarda paridas no Outono

Abstract

Este trabalho teve como principal objectivo estudar o anestro fisiológico pós-parto em ovelhas Awassi x Sarda paridas no mês de Outubro e sujeitas a dois regimes de amamentação diferentes – contínuo e nocturno. Para o efeito foram utilizadas 59 ovelhas adultas com parto eutócico. Considerou- se que o anestro fisiológico pós-parto terminou quando, pela primeira vez após o parto, os níveis plasmáticos de progesterona (P4) se elevaram acima dos 0,5 ng/ml. O anestro fisiológico pós-parto terminou 31,5 ± 11,1 dias após o parto. A duração da primeira fase lútea pós-parto foi de 12,0 ± 6,4 dias. Por seu turno, a duração do primeiro ciclo éstrico pós-parto foi de 18,2 ± 7,8 dias. Foram identificados alguns efeitos do regime de amamentação sobre a actividade ovárica pósparto.
