Anestro pós-parto em cabras da raça Serrana paridas no fim do Inverno

Abstract

Este trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objectivo de estudar a duração do período anovulatório pós-parto, em cabras da raça Serrana, ecótipo Transmontano, paridas no fim do Inverno. Nele foi utilizado um grupo de 18 cabras da raça Serrana, ecótipo Transmontano, com 2 a 9 anos de idade. No conjunto das cabras estudadas, a duração do intervalo de dias entre o parto e a primeira subida das concentrações plasmáticas de progesterona pós-parto acima dos 0,5ng/ml (PSNPP) foi de 82,4 ± 17,1 dias. A administração de melatonina exógena não favoreceu significativamente nenhum dos parâmetros reprodutivos estudados. Nesta altura do ano, o regresso à actividade ovárica cíclica afigura-se difícil.
