Estado nutricional em doentes oncológicos

Abstract

Introdução: A neoplasia define-se como uma lesão constituída pelo crescimento descontrolado e disseminação de células que invadem os tecidos normais adjacentes e metastizam para locais distantes, podendo ser fatais(1, 2). A perda de peso e a desnutrição são complicações frequentes entre os utentes oncológicos devido ao desenvolvimento do estado patológico e/ou aos tratamentos prescritos(3). A nutrição oncológica é considerada fundamental no processo de tratamento destes doentes. A manutenção do estado nutricional reduz as complicações no tratamento e contribui para o bem-estar do doente (4). Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o estado nutricional de doentes oncológicos.Metodologia: Para atingir o objetivo utilizou-se uma amostra acidental constituída por 170 doentes oncológicos em fase de tratamento em dois hospitais, localizados, na região do Minho e em Trás-os- Montes. O instrumento de recolha de dados utilizado foi constituído por uma entrevista aos utentes aplicando-se um Pré- Questionário e o Questionário Scored Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA), validado para doentes oncológicos. Procedeu-se à análise estatística através do software IBM SPSS 23.0, recorrendo-se à estatística descritiva para avaliar o estado nutricional dos doentes oncológicos e calcular a prevalência das neoplasias.
