Este artigo objetiva analisar, a partir do método marxista, o perfil e as condições de trabalho de Assistentes Sociais. Trata-se do resultado de uma pesquisa de caráter misto, realizada em 2019-2020, com Assistentes Sociais ativos das Seccionais do CRESS 10ª Região, para a qual realizou-se pesquisa bibliográfica, grupos focais e aplicação de questionário. Utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo e do tipo inferencial para o tratamento dos dados. Os resultados indicaram que o perfil de Assistentes Sociais é majoritariamente composto por mulheres (84,58%) brancas (74,86%), casadas (41,35%) ou em união estável (16,9%), formadas presencialmente (72,41%) e que estão trabalhando na área (81,68%). A maioria está inserida no âmbito das políticas sociais de seguridade social, 78% em Pelotas e 83% em Caxias do Sul, sendo a política de Assistência Social a de maior inserções, 58,79%. O vínculo estatutário em Caxias do Sul (51,26%) é maior que em Pelotas (49,33%). Identificamos outros vínculos como o temporário, o terceirizado e o intermitente que se intensificam durante a pandemia. Podemos concluir que as transformações do mundo do trabalho implementadas no Brasil vêm repercutindo na classe trabalhadora, e, portanto, no trabalho dos(as) Assistentes Sociais suscitando desafios que requerem estratégias coletivas para o seu enfrentamento.

This article aims to analyze the profile, conditions and working relations of Social Workers. This is the result of a mixed research, carried out in 2019-2020, with active Social Workers from CRESS Section 10ª Region. Was used bibliographic research, focus groups and questionnaire application. Were used inferential and content analysis for data treatment. The results indicated that the profile of Social Workers is composed of women (84.58%) white (74.86%), married (41.35%) or in a stable relationship (16.9%), graduated in the face-to-face modality (72.41%) and working in the area (81.68%). The highest percentage of professionals is inserted in social policies of social security, 78% in Pelotas and 83% in Caxias do Sul, with the Social Assistance policy being the one with the highest insertions, 58.79%. The statutory link in Caxias do Sul (51.26%) is greater than in Pelotas (49.33%). We also identified other links, highlighting the temporary, the outsourced and the intermittent that be intensified during the pandemic. We can conclude that the transformations in the world of work implemented in Brazil have had repercussions on the working class, and therefore, on the work of Social Workers, raising challenges that require collective strategies to face them.
