Authors: Jansch-Porto, Ingrid Eleonora Schreiber;

Fundamentos de Tolerância a Falhas.

Abstract

ln this paper, the basic definitions and the associated terminology used in fault tolerance domain are presented, in an objective but dida tic way, emphasizing the dependability concept in computer systems, its impairments, the means to reach it and its usual measures. ln the se quence, there are discussed fault confinement, detection, diagnostic and treatment, including techniques and mechanisms of error processing as recovery and reconfigura tion.
