Transporte de cátions no perfil do solo sob a influência de chuvas intensas

Abstract

The water constitutes an important vector of transport of pollutants. In agricultural areas the occurrence of heavy rainfall raises the water percolation in the soil profile, causing leaching of chemical species. The structure determines the time evolution of the drainage water and may vary depending on the type of soil. This study aimed evaluated the influence of rain intensity in the transport of cations in a Latosol and a Cambisol, with different types of land use. Drainage volumetric lysimeters were used to simulate the drainage flow in the soil profile and a rain simulator to produce rains with different intensities. The drainage flow was measured and water samples were collected to determinate the concentration of the cations NH4+, Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+. The results showed that the intensity difference does not constitute a determining factor for the transport of solutes in soil. For Ca2 +, Mg 2+ and Na + the determining factor for the transport was the soil management.
