Abstract

El estudio del ausentismo en la enfermería es un aspecto importante para subsidiar la planificación y la adecuación de los recursos humanos, considerando el caracter de continuidad del trabajo de la enfermería en las 24 horas de la actividad en el hospital. Se entiende por ausentismo las ausencias en los momentos en que los empleados deberian estar trabajando normalmente. Se busco identificar el índice de ausentismo y caracterizar los tipos de ausencias en el trabajo del personal de enfermería en las unidades de internación quirúrgica de un hospital universitário. Esta investigación tuvo carácter cuantitativo, descriptivo, retrospectivo. Los datos fueran obtenidos por medio de levantamientos, de enero a diciembre de 1998. Los resultados demuestran 29,63% de alejamiento trabajo, en el período estudiado. Este total es compuesto por 23,28% de ausencias previstas y 6,35% de ausencias no previstas como índice de ausentismo calculado.

O estudo do absenteísmo na enfermagem é um aspecto importante para subsidiar o planejamento e a adequação dos recursos humanos, tendo em vista o caráter de continuidade do trabalho da enfermagem na área hospitalar durante as 24 horas do dia . Entende-se por absenteísmo as ausências nos momentos em que os empregados deveriam estar trabalhando normalmente. Buscou-se identificar o índice de absenteísmo e caracterizar os tipos de ausências no trabalho do pessoal de enfermagem em unidades de internação cirúrgica de um hospital universitário. Esta investigação teve caráter quantitativo, descritivo, retrospectivo. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de levantamento, de janeiro a dezembro de 1998. Os resultados evidenciaram 29,63% de afastamento do trabalho no período estudado. Este total é composto por 23,36% de ausências previstas e 6,35% de ausências não previstas como índice de absenteísmo calculado.

The study of absenteeism in Nursing is an important item that subsidizes planning and adjusting human resources, regarding the continuity of nursing labor 24 hours a day in a hospital. Absenteeism is the absence from work at moments workers should be regularly executing their duties. We identified an absenteeism rate and also caracterized the kinds of absences from work among nursing personell in surgical wards of a University Hospital. This investigative study had a quantitave, qualitative and retrospective aspect. Data were obtained from January to December of 1998. Results showed 29.63% of absences on that period. This total is composed by 23.28% of predictable absences and 6.35% of non-predictable absences as an index of calculated absenteeism.
