REFLEXÕES SOBRE A PRODUTIVIDADE DE MARKETING

Abstract

Este ensaio objetiva fomentar a discussão e análise crítica sobre a Produtividade de Marketing, e sua influência na respectiva disciplina. Para tanto, busca abordar aspectos conceituais e averiguar a evolução do pensamento sobre Produtividade de Marketing. Algumas reflexões foram tecidas, verificando que tal tema pode permitir uma aproximação entre teoria e prática. Crê-se que trabalhos relativos à Produtividade de Marketing e suas consequentes divulgações são extremamente importantes para facilitar o trabalho dos práticos na busca pelo aumento da credibilidade da área de marketing e, por conseguinte, da própria disciplina de marketing frente às outras áreas de conhecimento que tratam sobre negócios. Entretanto, ainda falta consenso sobre conceitos e construtos desse tema e algumas mensurações não são muito claras ou são de difícil operacionalização. Assim, é necessário organizar as bases, definir mais cabalmente os conceitos e definições e aprimorar as métricas.

This essay proposes a theoretical discussion and critical analysis on Marketing Productivity. It sought to verify conceptualizations and aims to investigate the evolution of Marketing Productivity thinking. Some critical reflections about the subject were done. The authors point out that Marketing Productivity studies can allow a rapprochement between theory and practice, since it is relevant for both. It can facilitate the practitioners’ work and increase marketing credibility in the organizations and in the business academy. However, this theme doesn’t have consensus on concepts. And besides, some measurements are not very clear and are difficult to operate. Therefore, it is necessary to define more fully the constructs, concepts and metrics.
