Fobia social : evidências biológicas

Abstract

Social phobia is a very important diagnosis in psychiatric practice. The understanding of the underlying biology can improve the diagnosis and treatment of this disorder. The literature review shows that the most investigated factors are: a) genetics; b) neuroimage; c) neuroendocrine axis; d) neurotransmitor activity; e) sympathetic activity. There is a lot of evidence on the pathophysiology of social phobia, but no conclusive study.
