Abstract

Sketch , esquisso, draft, drawing . There are many terms that called the use of drawing in the design of new products. Amidst all these classifications, many are unaware of the characteristics of each type of drawing in product design, and therefore are not able to apply them in their professional practices. Occasionally, many are unaware of its benefits and end up stuck to the new technologies that offer time-saving, but harm the creative process and the solution of complex problems faced today. By grouping the features of the drawings submitted by eleven different authors in the literature review, this study sought to clarify the different features and functions of the drawing in the product development process. Three drawing categories were identified: reflective drawing; communicative drawing; and presentation drawing. For better understanding of their characteristics, are used to compile the website pinterest.com some representative images from each category available on the internet.
