A Cooperação Alentejo e Extremadura.

Abstract

O projecto OTALEX II (2008-2010), co-financiado pelo Programa Operacional de Cooperação Transfronteiriça Espanha Portugal (POCTEP), constitui o Observatório Territorial e Ambiental das regiões Alentejo (Portugal) e Extremadura (Espanha). Este Observatório, construído a partir da estreita colaboração entre diversas entidades Portuguesas e Espanholas, que vêem cooperando na área do ordenamento do território e sistemas de informação geográfica desde 1997, tem como objectivo a monitorização e análise territorial e ambiental das alterações e pressões em ambos os lados da fronteira Espano-Portuguesa, cobrindo as seguintes unidades administrativas (NUTS): Alto Alentejo, Alentejo Central, Baixo Alentejo, Alentejo Litoral, em Portugal e, Badajoz e Cáceres, em Espanha, abrangendo estas duas regiões europeias (Alentejo e Extremadura) cerca de 70.000 km2.
