Por outro lado, a ocorrência de sialorreia e lesão renal aguda (Grau 5) estiveram associadas a maior mortalidade; Retrospective study – canine leptospirosis in Baixo Alentejo - Abstract: Leptospirosis is a zoonosis causes by species of the genus Leptospira, with great importance to public health. A retrospective study was conducted to characterize a sample of 38 dogs diagnosed with leptospirosis in Baixo Alentejo over a five-year period (2020-2025). Based on the data, a possible association between clinical, laboratory and Imaging changes with the clinical outcome was investigated. Additionally, the influence of local precipitation on the risk of bacterial transmission was investigated. The results showed no correlation between precipitation and the occurrence of leptospirosis. An association was found between doxycycline administration and patient survival. On the other hand, the occurrence of sialorrhea and acute kidney injury (Grade 5) were associated with higher mortality.
