METOXILAÇÃO DE TERPENOS COM CATALISADOR HETEROGÉNEO

Abstract

A metoxilação de terpenos (alfa-pineno, beta-pineno e limoneno) foi realizada num reator descontínuo a 60º C. Foi preparado um catalisador consistindo em poli(álcool vinílico) com um heteropoliácido (ácido tungstofosfórico) e reticulado com ácido sulfosuccínico, com o objectivo de introduzir grupos ácido sulfónico na matriz polimérica. Este catalisador (PW-PVA-SO3H) foi caracterizado por FTIR-ATR. Observou-se que as bandas características do heteropoliácido e dos grupos sulfónico estão presentes no catalisador. Verificaou-se que, quando se utilizou beta-pineno como substrato, a atividade catalítica é muito superior aos outros substratos (alfa-pineno e limoneno). O alfa-pineno é menos reativo do que o beta-pineno mas mais reativo do que o limoneno. A selectividade para hidrocarbonetos terpénicos e éteres terpénicos na presença do catalisador PW-PVA-SO3H foi também estudada. Verificou-se que a selectividade para os éteres terpénicos diminui com o aumento da conversão do terpeno. Foi ainda realizado um estudo do efeito da massa do catalisador na metoxilação do beta-pineno. Observa-se que a converão de beta-pineno aumenta com a massa do catalisador
