Miopatias em frangos de carne (Broilers)

Abstract

Pode concluir-se, que a presença de lesão aumenta, de forma acentuada e progressiva, a exsudação e a deposição de colagénio intramuscular; - Abstract: Myopathies in Broiler chickens The present study analysed data about exudation and total collagen content in the pectoral muscles of broilers with Wooden Breast and White Striping myopathies, collecting the groups of samples: muscles without lesion, with moderate lesion and with severe lesion. The exudate content was determined with the EZ-Driploss method, and the pistometric method, and the total collagen content was determined using a kit from Sigma-Aldrich (Reference: MAK463) and a spectrophotometric determination protocol for hydroxyproline content. The collected data shows that there is a positive correlation between the severity of the lesion and exudation. The kit MAK463 did not allow collection data. However, with the spectrophotometric protocol, there is a positive correlation between the total collagen content and the severity of the lesion. It can be concluded that the presence of lesion increases, markedly and progressively, the exudation and intramuscular collagen deposition.
