Avaliação da dor no doente crítico: a intervenção do enfermeiro especialista

Abstract

We require adequate methods to measure it with precision, to treat it efficiently. To prevent and minimize pain is a responsibility of the Nurses. Their contribution is essential for improving healthcare through the capacity to identify needs, and subsequent development of strategies to attend them. We developed an intervention on the subject of pain assessment in the critically ill patient in internship context using the project methodology. This intervention aimed at improving the quality of healthcare. This report was produced within the scope of the Master’s in Nursing. We present and reflect on the activities performed. Specifically, we show how they enabled the acquisition and development of both common and specific competences attributed to the specialist nurse and the master in nursing.
