Abstract

MultiModMundo (MMM) is a prototype of a virtual world videogame or MMOG. Its goal is to provide a constant flux of new user experiences for regular users, focused on zone exploration. This constant flux is assured by analyzing previous player’s interactions, by matching their navigation patterns and other data to spaces and sounds, named zones and game objects generated from asset libraries, using data visualization techniques and user and goal centered design. Assuming that videogames are a consumable commodity, the goal is to extend user experience, keeping her actively playing the game, while new expansions are being worked on by the designers. This thesis defines principles, patterns and processes that became the foundation of the prototype, which was tested against a specified user.
