A identificação organizacional (IDO) surge com um constructo fundamental para a compreensão da ligação dos colaboradores à organização e da sua satisfação no trabalho. Esta investigação tem como objectivo estudar os antecedentes e as consequências da IDO e a relação desta com o perfil motivacional dos militares do Exército, bem como o seu impacto na satisfação destes. Participaram 153 militares, de ambos os sexos e com idades compreendidas entre os 19 e os 48 anos, sendo as variáveis medidas através de um instrumento, desenvolvido e validado previamente, composto por seis escalas. Os resultados revelam que, a categoria e o vínculo têm efeito directo na IDO e, ainda, que a identificação profissional, o prestígio exterior percebido e o motivo afiliativo se correlacionam com a IDO. O efeito da IDO sobre a satisfação é anulado pelos efeitos directos da identificação profissional, da força da identidade organizacional e do prestígio exterior percebido; ABSTRACT: The organizational identification appears as a fundamental construto to understand the connection between the employes and the institution and their satisfaction at work. The purpose of this research is to study the antecedents and the consequences of the IDO and its relation with the motivational profile of the military army as well as the impact in their satisfaction. In this project, 153 militars from both sex and aged between 19 and 48 participated, the variables were measured using a previously validated instrument composed by six scales. The results show that the category and the bond have direct effect on IDO and that the professional identification, the perceived external prestige and the affiliative motive are correlated with IDO. The effect of IDO on satisfaction is nullified by the direct effects of the professional identification strong organizational identity and for the perceived external prestige.
