Abstract

A Sociedade Portuguesa de Ciências Agrárias (SCAP) e a Associação Portuguesa de Horticultura (APH), em colaboração com a Universidade de Évora, realizaram no dia 31 de Outubro de 2014, no Auditório da Universidade de Évora, o Simpósio Nacional de Culturas Agro-industriais. Este evento, de carácter Nacional, constituiu um amplo fórum de debate e de troca de experiências, com todos os agentes da fileira agro-industrial, e possibilitou, certamente, um forte estímulo ao desenvolvimento da agricultura do nosso País. O Simpósio caracterizou-se pelos seguintes objectivos: i. Análise da situação do Programa de Desenvolvimento Regional (PRODER); ii. Discussão sobre as linhas de desenvolvimento e perspectivas de futuro do sector e das fileiras que o integram; iii. Avaliação da competitividade do sector e da sua capacidade para aproveitar as potencialidades das novas áreas, culturas e mercados; iv. Utilização das novas tecnologias aplicadas à agricultura. Pretendeu-se com este evento dar continuidade à ampla participação e discussão verificada em eventos anteriores com a presença de investigadores, produtores, técnicos e industriais.
