Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF CEMENT ALKALIS CONTENT IN THE INTERACTION CEMENT-ADJUVANT In recent decades there has been a huge breakthrough in the study area of concrete in the development of concrete with specific characteristics and properties such as high performance concrete, self-compacting concrete, etc. For the development of optimized concrete, characterized by very low water cement ratio (W/C), the organic additives, namely the superplasticizers, have owned a prominent position due to its ability to optimize the properties of concrete. This dissertation was prepared a test plan characterizing the influence of alkali content of cement in the concrete interaction of 8 adjuvant cement mixtures. Through the addition of alkali and testing of scattering and flow, we obtained the non-direct influence of increased content of alkali in the yield stress and viscosity of cement pastes. It was concluded that cements with differing levels of C₃A and alkalis have different behaviors when applied the same superplasticizer, which allows us to state that the efficiency of superplasticizers also depends on the type of cement used. The main conclusion came from the influence of the addition of alkali. This revealed that pastes with greater levels of alkali, decreases the effectiveness of superplasticizer.
