In Guatemala, the lack of continuity to the excellent proposals for social housing, that emerged during the 50’s,has had, as the main consequence, their failure, and after it, “poor housing solutions emerged, and have been, not only technically inefficient, but above all, they have not respected the human person’s dignity. Opposite case happened in Spain, whose proposals from the 50’s. for social housing, are even today, in the XXI century, a base and an example. Therefore, it is considered necessary to investigate, in a comparative way, these similar experiences in order to adapt these good practices to the Guatemalan culture and thus create dignified social interest housing.
