Abstract

Historiallinen korpuslingvistiikka tarjoaa menetelmän eri kielten historian ja muutoksen tutkimiseen laajojen, systemaattisesti koottujen elektronisten tekstikokoelmien avulla. Menetelmässä yhdistyvät laadullinen ja määrällinen näkökulma, ja siinä korostuu tutkittavan aineiston tarkka tuntemus. Historiallisen korpuslingvistiikan menetelmin voidaan saada uutta tietoa paitsi kielestä järjestelmänä myös ihmisyhteisöjen kielikäytäntöjen vaihtelusta ja muutoksesta.
