Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza con rigurosidad por parte de doctores y profesionales expertos en la materia, la emigración española hacia Chile entre los años 1810 y 2015, y el exilio de la Guerra Civil Española. Los mejores especialistas en Historia de las Relaciones Internacionales y de las Migraciones Transoceánicas de las universidades de Chile, de Los Andes, de La Frontera (Temuco) y de Santiago de Chile, y CIESE/Comillas, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Autónoma de Madrid y de Oviedo, en España, se aúnan en este libro para estudiar la diáspora transatlántica con destino al país austral. Muchas cosas quedan nítidas en este libro académico de gran calidad. Se pueden destacar tres. La primera, que los procesos migratorios son eternos, permanentes, cíclicos, locales y de larga duración. La segunda, que las relaciones internacionales no se explican, al menos en un importante factor sectorial, sin tener en cuenta las diásporas humanas, que son muy relevantes. La tercera, que los emigrantes contribuyen notoriamente al desarrollo socioeconómico de las sociedades de destino.
