Hacia la competencia comunicativa intercultural

Abstract

La dimensión pragmática de la lengua en uso resulta fundamental para el diseño de los currículos de idiomas y se manifiesta en los diferentes tipos de contenidos con los que se trabaja en el aula, entre ellos, los socioculturales. En el caso del español como lengua extranjera (ELE), existe ya una afianzada tradición de investigación teórico-práctica sobre la consideración de la cultura y sus relaciones con la competencia comunicativa en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, llevada a cabo desde los enfoques comunicativos de la pragmática intercultural y las orientaciones más actuales de la competencia comunicativa intercultural, tal como analizamos en la primera parte de este capítulo. El objetivo fundamental del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje es conseguir que los estudiantes de ELE lleguen a ser hablantes interculturales, capaces de comunicarse de manera adecuada y eficaz con hablantes de la lengua meta y de otras lenguas, conocedores de sus referentes y valores culturales, así como de los comportamientos y rutinas comunicativas asociados a determinadas situaciones culturales. Para ello, en la segunda parte de este capítulo, presentamos algunos de los aspectos docentes más relevantes, con el fin de promover la reflexión activa, por parte del profesor de ELE, acerca de los contenidos pragmáticos y culturales. En la tercera parte, se ofrecen propuestas para diseñar actividades que permitirán tratar de manera explícita estos contenidos socioculturales en el aula, en el marco de esta orientación pragmática del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.
