Abstract

The author analyzes the multiple discriminations faced by the Chicana woman: a racial discrimination, for the color of her skin and for her ethnic group, which does not allow her to totally identify with the Anglo-American culture nor with the Mexican culture of Hispanic origin that is hers by birth; a class discrimination, because she is economically disadvantaged; a gender discrimination, since as a woman she is regarded by men of her own "race" as an inferior being; and finally a sexual orientation discrimination, when her sexual choices do not comply with the heterosexual regime.
