Morfologia urbana: solução generativa paramétrica

Abstract

The informal settlements have been an important parte of the urban growth from years. An example of it are the slums, that are being subject of an important change. Slums are being recognized as a part of the cites diversity and, therefore, claiming the right of an urban qualified space (joan, kimo and thiro, 2012). The lack of response of the contemporary urbanism to the accelerated urban growth issue in the developing countries, in the 1970/80 decades (Alexandre, Martin, March and Mitchell) alternative experiences and theories of the urban project that sets free, for practical and economical reasons, the total control of the top-down logics of formal urbanism. A deeper comprehension of the informal and humanized patterns, Added to the emergency of digital tools that can emulate them, have bring together researchers to the informal urbanism, mainly from parametric and generative design tools. The parametric design tools development and the wide potentialities given the parametric urbanism theories are fundamental to the comprehension of the urban dynamics. In that way, the spacial parametrical configuration regarding urbanity and formalism is coming by, starting to tame the first steps to its application on informal cities (Luiz, 2010). It crosses the parametricism with the informal city genesis. However, to the investigation of new urban forms, the parametric urbanism needs, beyond formal parameters, environmental and programatic, the inclusion of spacial parameters, fundamental to the promotional of urban life. Still, has not been a subject much explored of developed. With this kind of parameters, the parametric urbanism could build a much systemic approach and result as a product of the relation of the various elements. This investigation proposes a critical reflection of the informal urban space of slums and the classical urbanism. The digital processes based in the parametric design can provide the search of urban solutions. It's analysed the formal organisation of the slum Nova Jaguaré to consequent elaboration of a parametric generative urban solution, based in the spacial parameters of this settlement.
