Abstract

Este trabalho surgiu no âmbito do mestrado em gestão empresarial para licenciados em outras áreas e, consiste num projeto sobre a “estratégia de internacionalização de uma PME do setor alimentar: A Pastelaria Chafariz. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, de paradigma interpretativo e pesquisa qualitativa, por se tratar do estudo do processo da internacionalização e restringe-se a uma realidade muito específica. A questão de pesquisa principal como ponto de partida e os objetivos gerais e específicos surgiram para dar resposta ao problema de investigação. A internacionalização é um processo dinâmico e é uma das alavancas para o crescimento e sustentabilidade de uma empresa. A escolha deste projeto surgiu do facto do setor alimentar apresentar enorme potencial e dinamismo, e também da vontade e disponibilidade da gerência da Pastelaria Chafariz, para que fosse desenvolvido este projeto. Com vista a servir de ferramenta ao processo de internacionalização da Pastelaria Chafariz, foi feito o levantamento das barreiras, constrangimentos e motivações que levaram a empresa a pensar na abordagem do mercado externo e na escolha da exportação como modo de entrada. A Pastelaria Chafariz é uma pequena empresa que apesar de apresentar alguns constrangimentos tem grande potencial para alcançar os objetivos propostos, pois as vantagens competitivas que detêm assim como as oportunidades advindas do mercado externo mostram o caminho a seguir para a diversificação e alargamento da sua produção. Neste contexto a Pastelaria Chafariz pode criar as condições necessárias para que a Internacionalização se torne na estratégia de crescimento sustentável.

This work came under the masters in business management for graduates in other areas, and consists of a project on the "strategy of internationalization of SMEs in the food sector: The Pastelaria Chafariz. This is a case study, the interpretive paradigm and qualitative research, as it is the study of the process of internationalization and is restricted to a very specific reality. The main research question as a starting point and the general and specific objectives have emerged in response to the research problem. Internationalization is a dynamic process and is one of the levers for growth and sustainability of a company. The choice of this project came from the fact that the food industry provides huge potential and dynamism, and also the willingness and availability of management Pastelaria Chafariz, which was developed for this project. In order to serve as a tool in the process of internationalization of Pastelaria Chafariz, was made the lifting of barriers, constraints and motivations that led the company to think of the approach of the foreign market and the choice of exporting as input mode. The Pastelaria Chafariz is a small company that despite having some constraints has great potential to achieve the proposed objectives, as the competitive advantages they hold and the opportunities arising from the external market show the way forward for the diversification and expansion of its production. In this context the Pastelaria Chafariz can create the conditions necessary for the Internationalization becomes the sustainable growth strategy.
