Movimentos sociais existem?

Abstract

Social transformations depend on social movements as much they depend on individual action. Not always are social movements or individuals the cause or the engine of social transformations. Even when they are the protagonist, it shall be social theory to decide the social functions of each entity within each singular historical situation. There are social theories using concepts of social movements as expressions of human sociability. These theories are best prepared to read reality and to describe social movements as they are than more politicized concepts of social movements, focused of leadership. The human will, still it is organized and rationally oriented to well being, using the emotional energy to support social mobilization, are relevant to society. Yet, there is no direct will determination till the historical facts. These last depends instable environment conditions, difficult to anticipate by science and coming from very different causal chains, many of them emerging only at the moment.
