Abstract

The current markets in which firms operate are increasingly "turbulent" and "volatile", so their survival under these conditions has become a strategic issue. The marketing information systems have emerged as a way to enable the area of marketing and sales managers to identify, interpret and react to market signals. This project aims to evaluate the company's market potential of four hospitals in the area of electrophysiology in the sales area of southern Portugal of Biosense Webster, a Johnson & Johnson Medical company. For this purpose, a questionnaire was developed, with issues related to the number of procedures performed and the usage habits of material in clinical electrophysiology procedures. Through descriptive analysis of the results was possible to know in four hospitals: the full potential of the material used, the number of procedures performed, the type of clinical procedures that took place, users' habits in the use of material for clinical procedure, the potential clinical procedures in conventional and 3D mapping, the potential of therapeutic catheters and diagnostic catheters. These results allowed thus providing data to the marketing information system of Johnson & Johnson, so that management can evaluate and make strategic decisions based on measurable and reliable information.
