Turismo rural: “Aldeia de Mofreita”

Abstract

Tourism is actually a social cultural phenomenon that represents a strategic point for the economic development of a country. According to the WTO (World Tourism Organization), Portugal is one of the 20 most searched touristic destinations in the world, receiving around 12 million tourists per year. Rural Tourism appears as an answer to the specific needs of people who are looking forward to find peace and contact with nature on their holidays in order to get an experience that will let them escape from the stressing routines of big cities. This kind of tourism represents a market in great development, however it’s very important to define a corporate and marketing strategy in order to face any difficulty and create a sustainable development for the project. In this panorama, appears the “Aldeia de Mofreita”, a touristic village located on a rural area that pretends to offer their clients the opportunity to experience the real concept of rural life style. The project consists in the rehabilitation of some houses and points of interest in the village, turning the village to a replica of how it was on other times. This project will be differentiator from others by the excellence of services and quantity of complementary activities. IV
