Permanência dos voluntários: O caso do acolhimento residencial

Abstract

This study described and analyzed volunteering not renumbered developed in Residential Care and Temporary Centres for children and youth at risk. In this study, the main issue was a permanence of volunteers like a surplus value for these social equipments and to the development of volunteering. More specifically, research focuses on perceptions of organizational support from whom it does volunteer work in order to check if this cognitive process interferes with the desire for continuity in the institution. So, we were identified in the literature a set of dispositional and organizational dimensions that explain the continued behaviour of volunteers and sought to determine whether this conduct could be explained by the mediation of perceived organizational support and identification with the role of volunteers in such organizations. The operationalization of this research proposal was empirically tested through the application of a questionnaire to 80 volunteers. Before, It had been done an exploratory study and it was interviewed the technical manager of volunteering in four institutions. We can conclude that the POS is, in this study, the most important variable in the continuity of the volunteer work that mediates the relationship between organizational characteristics and satisfaction.
