Infraestrutura como espaço agregador

Abstract

In a scenario in which the Cabril dam hydroelectric power station is decommissioned, new possibilities arise for recognizing and transformation of a vastly altered territory. Thus, two municipalities divided by an artificialized watercourse gain a new perspective on rehabilitation. The concrete wall that interrupts the River Zêzere is currently only recognized as a section of the National Road 2 (N2) and used as an access route by cars wishing to cross the river banks. My fair gesture involves transforming this structure into a space where communities meet and exchange cultures, customs and knowledge, thus uniting the parishes of Pedrógão Grande and Pedrógão Pequeno. In addition, the redesign of this shared road will enable a harmonious symbiosis between man and animal, while continuing to allow cars to cross. The dam wall and National 2 will then become a place for the community to stay.
