Endividamento das famílias na zona euro : Análise econométrica de dados em painel

Abstract

Este estudo realiza uma análise econométrica de dados em painel de forma a avaliar os determinantes dos diferentes tipos de endividamento das famílias entre 2003 e 2022 para os países da zona euro. O endividamento das famílias é um tema importante considerando que este fenómeno afeta diretamente a economia dos diferentes países. Os principias resultados deste trabalho apontam que, para o crédito à habitação, os rendimentos do trabalho, a população em idade ativa e as taxas de juro têm um impacto positivo e os preços dos ativos financeiros têm um impacto negativo. Para o crédito ao consumo, os preços dos ativos financeiros, os rendimentos do trabalho e as taxas de juro têm um impacto positivo e os preços da habitação e os gastos de Estado em bem-estar têm um impacto negativo. Para os outros tipos de crédito, a desigualdade de rendimentos pessoais, o rendimento do trabalho e as taxas de juro têm um impacto positivo e, por outro lado, os preços da habitação e a população em idade ativa têm um impacto negativo.

This study takes a panel data econometric approach for household indebtedness between 2003 and 2022 for the euro zone countries. The household indebtedness it’s an important topic considering that this phenomenon directly affects the economy of different countries. The main results of this study indicate that, for housing credit, the household labour income, the working-age population and the interest rates have a positive impact and the financial asset prices has a negative impact. For consumer credit, the financial asset prices, the household labour income and the interest rates have a positive impact and the housing prices and the welfare state have a negative impact. For other types of credit, the personal income inequality, the household labour income and the interest rates have a positive impact and the housing prices and the working-age population have a negative impact.
